About Ben

I started MoneyRoute because the price you see advertised for broadband or a SIM is rarely the price you end up paying. Most contracts rise every spring, many add setup fees, and some jump sharply when the deal ends. I wanted one place that shows all of that up front, in pounds and pence.

Away from MoneyRoute I work in digital marketing and regulated advertising. That means I spend a lot of time on the gap between what an offer promises and what the small print says, and on how prices should be shown fairly. It's the same lens I apply to every deal here.

I write the guides, decide how deals are compared, and look after the daily price checks.

What Ben covers

  • SIM only deals
  • Switching providers
  • Price transparency

How Ben checks prices and facts

Every deal on MoneyRoute comes from the provider's own website, including the price rises it publishes for new customers. Prices are checked every day: a GitHub script reads each provider's page and a review step confirms or updates each figure. Anything that can't be confirmed for two weeks comes off the site, and every deal shows the date it was last checked.

Guides cite their sources, such as Ofcom, the providers' own terms and specialist outlets like ISPreview, and list them at the end. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we'll correct it.

Ben Marlow is a pen name. The editor writes under it to keep MoneyRoute separate from their day job. Everything we say about their background and work is true.
